  • Wattson Audio | Swiss technology for Hi-Res audio streaming

After years spent consulting, designing, and engineering digital and audio electronics for some of the most prestigious brands in high-end audio, the team behind the Wattson Audio products decided to leverage their accumulated experience and expertise to produce a series of forward looking, high-performance and high-value components. So were born the Emersons and later, the more sophisticated and versatile Madisons, products that incorporated cutting-edge hardware and software solutions in compact, affordable, and elegantly distinctive packages. There was no mistaking the Wattson Audio products: nothing looked like them and nothing anywhere near the price sounded remotely as good. They say that, "quality will out". In the case of the Emerson and Madison units, the componentry is exhaustively selected, the execution is exacting, the thinking is second to none. The casework is milled from solid, and the software is dedicated and proprietary. Don’t be fooled by the diminutive dimensions or approachable price: each Wattson product represents a combination of high-end thinking and engineering, distilled down to its most compact, concentrated and performance focussed form. The hardware and circuit design are configured to allow software upgrades to keep digital products current, to allow analogue products to grow with your system. The operational algorithms and analog topologies protect owners from in-built obsolescence and ensure a long and extremely musical working life. If all of that sounds familiar, it’s because it is! With so many high-end brands leaning on the same engineers and the same experience that underpin the Wattson products, it’s no surprise that those "big brothers", shot through with the Wattson DNA, sound like echoes of the "home grown" designs. It puts those big and expensive products in pretty good company! DESIGNED, ENGINEERED AND BUILT IN SWITZERLAND

  • Wattson Audio | Emerson’s installation guide

Emerson's installation guide Unboxing Safety notice Placement and positioning Network and audio connections Getting started Content access and playback Firmware update Renaming Purpose of the two LEDs on the front panel Troubleshooting 1. Unboxing Your Emerson comes with the following elements: 1 Emerson (DIGITAL or ANALOG model) 1 external power supply 5V DC, with a set of 4 interchangeable international sockets When you unpack your Emerson for the first time, carefully check that all these elements are present in the box and are not damaged. Should this be the case, or should an element be missing, please contact your Wattson Audio retailer or us directly. In any case, we strongly suggest that you keep the original packaging which has been designed to protect your Emerson during transportation. 2. Safety notice When using your Emerson, make sure to observe the following rules: Use only a fully grounded AC power cord (with – live, neutral and ground). The building as well as the socket on which the Emerson will be installed must be connected to earth. The power socket must remain accessible, because it is the only means of disconnecting from the electrical network. Only use options and accessories specified or recommended by the manufacturer. Symbols used: DC power polarity of the DC power Specific regional considerations: Apparatets stikprop skal tilsluttes en stikkontakt med jord som giver forbindelse til stikproppens jord. Laite on liitettävä suojakoskettimilla varustettuun pistorasiaan. Apparatet må tilkoples jordet stikkontakt. Apparaten skall anslutas till jordat uttag. 3. Placement and positioning Your Emerson has been designed to be placed on the 4 rubber feet located under the case. We recommend that you place it on a flat, solid and stable surface. Due to its very low electric consumption, the Emerson dissipates very little heat and does not include an active ventilation system. It may therefore be placed on the top of a furniture, as well as inside a cabinet. However, for its effective functioning, make sure you do not cover your Emerson, nor place it near a heat source or in full sun. 4. Network and audio connections Before you proceed to any wiring and connecting of your Emerson, we recommend that you ensure that it is switched off. This done, you may follow the steps indicated below in the stated order: Network connection Using a network cable (not supplied), connect one of your router’s output to the RJ45 connector at the rear of your Emerson. You will hear a “click” once the cable is correctly wired. Audio connection Emerson DIGITAL Your Emerson features a 75 ohm S/PDIF coaxial output on RCA connector and a 110 ohm AES/EBU output on XLR connector, both equipped with an isolation transformer. This allows you to connect your Emerson to your digital-to-analog converter with an S/PDIF coaxial cable, respectively with an AES/EBU cable (not supplied). Audio connection Emerson ANALOG Connect your Emerson to your amplifier or to your active loudspeakers using RCA analog cables (not supplied). 5. Getting started Once the connections to the network and to your audio installation have been set, your Emerson is ready to be switched on. The external power supply of the Emerson comes with 4 interchangeable international sockets. Choose the socket model that fits the standard of your country and slide it into the power supply. You will hear a "click" to confirm the correct position of the plug. Finally plug your Emerson into an AC outlet. Once under tension, LED A slowly blinks during the start-up phase. Once your Emerson becomes operational, the LED remains switched on. You can learn more about the meaning of LEDs in the section below. DIGITAL LED B (PLAYBACK) LED A (POWER) ANALOG LED B (PLAYBACK) LED A (POWER) Your Emerson is now connected to the network and ready to stream some music. 6. Digital content access and playback Your Emerson is based on the UPnP/DLNA standard in order to stream audio content. You will thus have access to the content stocked on most of the market NAS (Synology, QNAP, Buffalo, Netgear,...), as well as on the Media Servers installable on a computer or integrated in some devices (MinimServer, twonky,...) . To access the content of a Media Server located on the same network as your Emerson, you will have to use a UPnP control application on your smartphone, tablet or computer. Wattson Audio has developed its own mobile solution Wattson Music , available for iOS (currently, Wattson Remote , the Android version of the Wattson Audio control app, only provides access to the device’s settings). You may consult the user guide of the Wattson Music app in order to get acquainted with its functioning. 7. Firmware update From time to time, we publish internal firmware updates of your Emerson. The aim is generally to bring slight improvements or corrections, thus ensuring the proper functioning of the Emerson over time. You will find the reference of the currently installed version on the Web page of your Emerson: Ensure that your Emerson is switched on and connected to your network. Connect on the Web page of your Emerson. The version number of the firmware is indicated at the end of the section "Firmware update". Using this version number, you can check at any time if a newer firmware version is available for your Emerson model: Visit the download page dedicated to the Emerson ANALOG or Emerson DIGITAL . Download the latest file update, if this is more recent that the one installed on your Emerson. Once downloaded, make sure the file is decompressed in a binary format (.bin). If the file is still compressed (.zip), use a utility to unzip it. Once the file is downloaded, you may proceed to the update by following the steps listed below: Ensure that your Emerson is switched on and connected to your network. Connect to the Web page of your Emerson. In the "Firmware update" section, click on the button "Select the .bin file" in order to indicate the location of the previously downloaded file and validate your choice. Click on the button "Launch the update". Follow the update process that is indicated on your screen. During this phase, LED A of your Emerson will blink for a few seconds. W ait for the status to display "Ready" before clicking on the "Back" button. Back on the main Web page of your Emerson, check that the firmware version number is indeed the one of the latest update. Finally, take the time to check the volume level set on the Emerson and adjust it if necessary. Sometimes the volume level is changed after an update. DIGITAL LED B (PLAYBACK) LED A (POWER) ANALOG LED B (PLAYBACK) LED A (POWER) You may then use your Emerson normally in order to fully enjoy your preferred musical environment. 8. Renaming In order to easily identify our products on the network, we give each of them a name corresponding to their model. Your Emerson appears on the network under the name "Emerson DIGITAL" or "Emerson ANALOG", according to the model you own. You can customize this name at your convenience in two ways... From the Wattson Music iOS app Open the Wattson Music app. On the Home screen, once the name of your Emerson is displayed, swipe-left on it and click on the "Rename" action. Enter the new name you wish to give to your Emerson by replacing the current one, then validate your change by hitting "Return" on the keyboard. From the Wattson Remote Android app Open the Wattson Remote app and connect to your Emerson. Access the Settings from the upper right button. In the "Device" section of the Settings screen, click on "Friendly name", enter the new name you would like to give to your Emerson and validate your choice. After a few seconds, an alert box will be displayed to warn about the disconnection from the Emerson and a come back to the Home screen. As soon as the change is complete, your Emerson will be displayed with it new name in the devices list. From your Emerson Web page Ensure that your Emerson is switched on and connected to your network. Connect to your Emerson Web page . In the section "Modification of the Friendly Name", enter the new name you wish to give your Emerson in the designated field and validate your choice by clicking on the "Rename" button. Whatever way you choose, your Emerson will disappear from the network for a few seconds and reappear under its new name. 9. Purpose of the two LEDs on the front panel The Emerson displays two electroluminescent diodes (LED) on its front panel. Both LEDs vary according to the use of the Emerson. DIGITAL LED B (PLAYBACK) LED A (POWER) ANALOG LED B (PLAYBACK) LED A (POWER) LED A The LED is continuously switched off: The Emerson is switched off and will not be visible on the network. The LED flashes slowly: This phase generally lasts for about ten seconds after having switched the Emerson on until it obtains a valid IP address on the network. If the Ethernet RJ45 cable is not connected or if the network is not operational, the LED continues to blink indefinitely. The LED blinks fast: An update of the internal firmware is running on the Emerson. The LED is continuously switched on in red: The Emerson is under tension and its IP address is valid. The Emerson is ready to play music. LED B The LED is continuously switched off: No piece of music, nor any audio stream is currently read with the Emerson. The LED is in this state after a STOP command. The LED blinks: The reading is currently on PAUSE on the Emerson. The LED is continuously lit red: A piece of music or an audio stream is currently read. The LED is in this state after a PLAY command. The LED pulses slowly After 30 minutes of inactivity, the Emerson enters a "low power" mode. It exits this mode as soon as the playback of an audio stream resumes. This behavior was introduced in the Emerson firmwares dated "2023.01.24". Both LEDs A and B alternatively blinking This scenario occurs when a firmware update has failed. It is necessary to start the update procedure from the Emerson Web page. 10. Troubleshooting The Emerson is subject to very few malfunctions. However, your Emerson might not appear on your network for several causes. Explore and validate the following points in order to identify the origin of the problem. Power control When it is on, LED A on the Emerson’s front panel must be continuously switched on or blink. Should this not be the case, check the external power supply connections, ensuring that the main bloc is connected to an AC power outlet and that the electric plug on the Emerson’s back panel is fully inserted. Remove it and insert it again if required. Network connection control In case the Emerson cannot find a valid IP address on the network, LED A will slowly blink. If this is the case, start by checking the state of the Ethernet RJ45 cable at the rear of the Emerson in order to ensure that it is not damaged. Should the cable be in good shape, unplug it and replug it until to hear a "click" ensuring that it is well in place. If after several seconds the power LED still blinks, we recommend that you check the rest of your network installation. Home networks can be configured in a multitude of different ways and can be the source of many faults. Connect a network specialist if necessary. Once the previous checks have been performed and validated, your Emerson must be powered and LED A must be continuously switched on. Should this not be the case, please contact your Wattson Audio retailer.

If your amplifier is on, the sound will come out of the speakers and your headphones simultaneously. 12. Switching the Madison to standby When you are not using your Madison, we recommend that you put it to standby. The Madison does not go into standby mode automatically. Using the multifunction knob Press the knob for 2 seconds. The volume LEDs will light up and then turn off one by one downwards. The STBY LED will light up. Your Madison is in standby mode. 13. Troubleshooting and meaning of the error codes indicated by the LEDs Under normal circumstances, the LEDs on the front panel of the Madison are used to indicate the standby status, the selected input and the volume level. However, in the event of a device malfunction, these LEDs are also used to indicate the nature of the current problem. Network connection is missing or the network interface is not responding When the network input is selected and a problem is detected with the network interface, the NET LED flashes once per second. This indicates that no valid IP address could be assigned to the Madison. The other LEDs are not considered for this error code. In most cases, the cause will be related to a poor connection of the Ethernet cable connected to the back of the Madison. It is therefore recommended to check the condition of this cable and change it if necessary. If the problem persists, the second most common cause of malfunction is related to another device in the network infrastructure (switch, router, etc.). It is recommended to check all these devices and if necessary, to call in a network specialist. In very rare cases, it is the network interface of the Madison that may be at fault. The unit should be returned to your dealer or to Wattson Audio for repair. Communication with the flash memory is not possible The various internal devices of the Madison communicate with each other and use an internal flash memory. If communication with this memory is not possible, the LEDs of the 3 inputs will flash approximately 3 times per second and the first volume LED starting from the bottom will be lit. This error is critical and cannot be corrected simply. The unit must be taken to your dealer or returned to Wattson Audio for repair. Flash memory content is missing or incorrect The flash memory contains information essential to the startup and operation of the Madison. If the contents of this memory cannot be validated during initialization of the Madison, the LEDs of the 3 inputs will flash approximately 3 times per second and the second volume LED starting from the bottom will be lit. If this error persists, a new firmware update should be performed. The Signal Processing Unit (DSP) is not responding The DSP is a central component of the Madison. If the DSP becomes unresponsive or its firmware is incomplete or erroneous, the LEDs of the 3 inputs will flash approximately 3 times per second and the third volume LED starting from the bottom will be lit. If this error persists, a new firmware update must be performed.

  • Wattson Audio | Emerson DIGITAL

Emerson DIGITAL emerson-digital-iso-front-029F emerson-digital-front-047F emerson-iso-rear-030F emerson-digital-iso-front-029F 1/3 The clearest path from the internet to your system’s DAC Don’t be fooled by the small size and outward simplicity of the Emerson DIGITAL, its lack of facilities or the apparent simplicity of the task it has been designed to perform. There’s nothing simple about taking a music stream from the network and feeding it to a DAC – and an almost infinite capacity for error. Every aspect of the Emerson DIGITAL, from the components selected to the circuit topology, the milled from solid casework to the proprietary software, is based on our extensive work with many of the highest profile and most highly regarded brands on the market. This really is high-end performance and engineering distilled down to its most minimal form. Network replay and compatibility The Emerson DIGITAL’s network interface employs Wattson Audio’s own, highly regarded streaming engine. It’s a proprietary solution we build around the Sitara processor from Texas Instruments, which depends on our own, updatable software and which you’ll find in some remarkably high-profile and expensive products. This handles the ever-increasing number of network communication protocols and has been continuously developed and updated since its introduction. Signal handling has been optimized to ensure audio data integrity, transmission reliability and support for Hi-Res file formats without transcoding, all while delivering a smooth and responsive user experience. Emerson DIGITAL is a "bit-perfect" device, from its RJ45 input to its AES/EBU or S/PDIF output. We build the Emerson DIGITAL’s circuit around an exactingly executed internal clock, with a pair of superb, ultra low-noise oscillators, one to accommodate material sampled at a base frequency of 44.1kHz, the other for 48kHz (as well as any multiples thereof). The distribution of the clock signals has been carefully designed to minimize jitter throughout the digital audio signal path, while only the active oscillator is powered to minimize noise and jitter. The digital output stages The provision of both S/PDIF and AES/EBU outputs makes the Emerson DIGITAL the perfect partner for any DAC or digital component that doesn’t offer a streaming input – or the perfect upgrade to DACs that do. In order to precisely match the specifications for both S/PDIF and AES/EBU, we use separate modulators for each output. High-speed output stages, synchronized by the main clock to further avoid jitter, and two wide-band RF transformers, ensure the rejection of common mode problems and deliver superior performance from the independent, isolated outputs. The sophisticated LEEDH loss-less digital volume control can also be selected for either output. Thanks to the Wattson Remote for Android and Wattson Music for iOS apps, you can control your Emerson ANALOG, and access your streaming sources from your phone or tablet, respectively. With its distinctive, compact design, carved from solid billet aluminium and protected by powder coating, the Emerson DIGITAL is a surprisingly solid yet discrete addition to any system. But its astonishing musical impact is hard to miss: musical AND engineering integrity delivered by a single, affordable unit. • Wattson Audio | Plays with Audirvāna

Plāys with Audirvāna Long prized by audiophiles for playing high-resolution music files on Mac and Windows, as well as integrating streaming services such as Qobuz, TIDAL, and HRA, Audirvāna is further distinguished by its proprietary playback engine and seamless support for external audio equipment. The "plāys with Audirvāna" program reinforces this connection with manufacturers and gives users the assurance of a flawless integration. A few years ago, at a time when Wattson Audio did not yet exist, we had the opportunity to discuss technical issues with Damien Plisson, the creator of Audirvāna. At that time, we were already working on the compatibility of our proprietary streaming solution with the Audirvāna software. When the Audirvāna team contacted us again in 2022 to present their "plāys with Audirvāna" project, it was only natural that we agreed to be among the first device manufacturers to join this program. Starting May 24, 2023, Audirvāna will automatically recognize our entire line of Emerson and Madison streamers the moment one of them is selected as an UPnP audio output. A "plāys with Audirvāna" notification will appear to confirm that the device has been fully tested to work harmoniously with the software. Audirvāna will then apply the settings recommended by Wattson Audio for your device. Want to know more and try it? As a Wattson Audio customer, you can take advantage of a 3-month extended trial of Audirvāna by using one of our promo codes. No code in your possession yet? • Wattson Audio | FAQ

FAQ What is the meaning of the trailing number in the streamer's name on the network? How to access the Madison's or Emerson's Web page? What does mean the error message "Wrong file format" that can be displayed while updating the firmware? Why is it not always possible to connect with AirPlay? Are the Wattson Audio streamers compatible with Roon? Which control application may I use? Are you encountering a problem that is not described here? What is the meaning of the trailing number in the streamer's name on the network? As UPnP / DLNA devices, the Madison and the Emerson announce themselves on the local network using their friendly name. For identification purpose, the last number of its IP address is automatically added at the end of its friendly name. This number cannot be changed by the user, even when the friendly name is changed. To learn more about the how to change the name of the Madison or the Emerson on the network, you can refer to their installation guide. How to access the Madison's or Emerson’s Web page? As soon as they are connected to the network, the streamers get an unique IP address from your router. It is then possible to access the Update and Configuration Web page located as this IP address. This Web page is useful to update the firmware of your Madison or your Emerson, as well as changing its friendly name on the network. There are different ways to access this page... From the iOS or Android Wattson Audio control app Once connected to your device from Wattson Music for iOS or Wattson Remote for Android, enter the device Settings, then go to the “Device” section to find the IP address. You can then directly click the IP address or copy-paste it in a Web browser’s address bar. This done, you will access the page “Update and Configuration”. From Windows 10 As a "Media Renderer", your device is displayed in the Windows network area as a "Media Device". The most straightforward way to access the "Update and Configuration" Web page is as follows: open the Windows Explorer, select "Network" in the left panel, in the "Media Devices" category, you should see your Madison or your Emerson listed, double-click on it and wait for the Web page to open in your default browser. From macOS As for iOS and Android, the UPnP / DLNA protocol is not natively supported. You will then have to use a third-party UPnP controller application (Audirvana, JRiver, ...) to access your device and thus find its IP address on the network. Copy this IP address in a Web browser’s address bar to access the page "Update and Configuration". If you still cannot find the IP address of your streamer on your local network by using one of the methods described above, you can try to get it from your router’s administration page. Almost all routers on the market have an administration page used for network configuration purpose and from which it is possible to get the list of all connected devices on the network. As a reminder, we do not provide any technical support for third-party UPnP controller apps and applications, nor for the configuration of network devices such as routers, modems, etc. What does mean the error message "Wrong file format" that can be displayed while updating the firmware? The necessary firmware file for the update of your streamer is a "binary" file ending with a ".bin" extension. The selection of any other file format will produce this error "Wrong file format". In order to solve this problem, ensure that the file you have updated is indeed the expected binary file and that its name ends with the ".bin" extension. If the update file still includes the ".zip" extension, it means that it has not yet been unzipped. Double-click on this file in order to unzip it and ensure that the resulting file name ends with ".bin" before starting the updated process. If the update file ends with the extension ".bin", ensure that you are selecting the appropriate file when you click on "Selection of the .bin file". Why is it not always possible to connect with AirPlay? As long as you do not change the friendly name of your streamer, you will have no problem connecting with AirPlay. If you want to change the friendly name of your Madison or your Emerson , you must absolutely use no special characters or emoticons in the new name. Apart from standard alphanumeric characters, only the space " ", the dash "-" and the underline "_" can be used. Should you experiment troubles to connect with AirPlay, try to rename your device from its Web page and to respect the rules above. This limitation should be solved in a future firmware update. Are the Wattson Audio streamers compatible with Roon? Yes, the Madison and the Emerson are certified Roon Ready . This means we use the Roon streaming technology that gives you access to the highest levels of audio performance, without compromise, backed by a comprehensive and intuitive user interface, simple configuration and rock-solid daily reliability. You will need to install the latest firmware to use your device with Roon. Which control application may I use? We strongly recommend the use of our iOS Wattson Music app. It has been optimized for the Madison and the Emerson and offers an integral control of your device’s functionalities. Our Wattson Remote app for Android also provides access to all settings of your Wattson Audio devices. However, the functionality related to the access to music content and music streaming is not yet available in this version and will be included in a future update. In the meantime, as Media Renderers, our streamers respond to the UPnP AV /DLNA protocol and may be piloted by numerous applications compatible with this norm. We may namely recommend Audirvana for macOS and Windows, BubbleUPnP and mConnect Player for the Android devices. Wattson Audio does not provide technical support with these third-party applications. Are you encountering a problem that is not described here? In case you do not find an answer to a question about our streamers, please contact your Wattson Audio retailer.

  • Wattson Audio | Madison LE

Madison LE Streamer madison-le-iso-front-024F madison-le-front-040F madison-le-rear-046F madison-le-iso-front-024F 1/3 High-end digital replay – without the cost, size and complexity With exactly the same, sophisticated, DSP-based, spline filtering algorithm and proprietary ethernet interface, the same milled-from-solid casework and minimalist but carefully selected features as the standard Madison , the LE version already offers digital input and conversion capabilities that are well beyond its price point. So, to build a better Madison, we looked at the analog output stage, the power supply and the filtering, improving its performance still further in the digital domain while increasing the musical capabilities and output characteristics of the analog circuitry. The Madison LE still uses an external energy-efficient, switch-mode power-supply, but we were able to engineer it for reduced noise levels with the addition of an AC input filter and greater stability, by adding linear regulation. In turn, that demanded a bigger box. We could have used the same, precision machined casework as the Madison itself, but instead, given that the power supply is best placed remotely and thus, out of sight, we chose to reduce the overall price of the product by using a cost-effective, generic case: maximum increase in performance, minimum increase in price. We also doubled the amount of power supply capacitance and improved the quality of the capacitors themselves. Then we designed an all-new analog output stage. The fully balanced and differential circuit uses two pairs of op-amps per channel, allowing us to optimise the interface to the DAC chips and improve the LE’s ability to drive a connected power amp. We also took the opportunity to improve the quality of the critical coupling caps between the DAC chips and the analog output stage. The Madison LE extends the Wattson Audio concept of value-engineering. Like all of our products, it leverages the power of sophisticated, DSP-driven digital circuitry to deliver remarkable musical performance. But by budgeting additional engineering and material resources to the power supply and analog sections, it provides an even better working environment for its digital circuitry and an even more capable output stage – with very real musical benefits. With its ghostly quiet noise floor and the ability to really drive the connected power amp(s), the Madison LE delivers musical dynamics and authority, nuance and subtleties that are normally the province of vastly more expensive (and far larger) products. It stays true to the Wattson Audio ethos of superior musical performance, coupled to forward looking, space efficient and resource sensitive design. True high-end performance has never been more accessible – or easier to live with! System and setups Review real world systems adopted by and the comments of our Wattson Audio community members. Connect Emerson between the network and your amplifier and you are ready to go. But don’t be fooled by the Emerson ANALOG’s outward simplicity and ease of use. There’s nothing simple about taking a music stream from the network and feeding it directly to a line input on your amplifier. Many streaming solutions use multiple boxes cables and connections to achieve what the Emerson does in a single, small box. Therein lie the challenge and the beauty of the Wattson Audio solution. By eliminating multiple devices, cables, and connections, we also eliminate multiple sources of error. Instead, we control every aspect of the process, from the components selected to the circuit topology, the milled from solid casework to the proprietary software, based on our extensive work with many of the highest profile and most highly regarded brands on the market. The incoming data stream is fed directly to the Cyrus/Wolfson WM8742 DAC, which also delivers DSD to PCM conversion. A sophisticated, loss-less LEEDH adjustment of output level is also available, to provide perfect matching to your amplifier’s input sensitivity or a volume control if required. No output filtering is applied to the DAC, maintaining the straight-line, musically coherent nature of the device. • Wattson Audio | Of the benefits of the LEEDH Processing volume control

LEEDH Processing Volume control is the most common signal processing operation in audio. Whether digital or analogue, it is a process that aims to change the amplitude of the signal without further impact. In fact, this modification inevitably has collateral effects... Volume control occurs many times in the audio processing chain, primarily during the recording, mixing and mastering stages. However, its impact is also significant during playback. Any volume control affects the dynamic range of the signal and thus leads to a loss of information. No matter how small, this form of alteration is felt in the nuances and depth of the musical message. In the digital domain, conventional systems bring a particular distortion, linked to quantization noise, which is associated with a certain coldness and hardness of listening. For this reason, many audiophiles prefer to use an analogue control, which however has disadvantages of a different nature. LEEDH Processing x Wattson Audio The patented LEEDH Processing volume control concept, which has been acclaimed by many experts, is based on a clever mathematical calculation that minimises quantization errors and guarantees the integrity of the signal. With this process, the amplitude of the digital signal can be modified without any deterioration effect and without coloring the sound. In many ways, this system combines the advantages of analogue and digital control. Wattson Audio products with LEEDH Processing allow the digital-to-analog converter to be connected directly to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers, without the need for an analogue preamplifier to control the volume. This topology offers the advantage of an extremely short signal path, ensuring dynamic and accurate sound. Need more information? In May 2020, as part of an AES convention, SUPSI 's Institute of Information Systems published an analysis that will tell you more about the technical aspects of this process . You can also find all the information on the official website dedicated to the LEEDH Processing .
